Re: Conoco Philips 2017 Asia Pacific Supplier Recognition Award
Congratulations to our team in Gladstone who have been awarded the Conoco Philips 2017 Asia Pacific Supplier Recognition Award. This is a huge deal within Conoco Philips and also for our business in Gladstone. The award was presented by Wendy King, President East. It is a great example of our ability to solve a difficult problem for our client, a problem that caused significantly reduced plant throughput during early production.
During operation in 2016/17, Conoco Phillips became aware of reduced efficiency of their Waste Heat Recovery units (WHRU). Internal inspections of the WHRU tubes via camera showed that carbon was building up causing blockages. Contract Recourses was engaged to assist in coming up with a method to clean the carbon from the tubes, 5 x 180’ bends on each tube and 31 tubes coming from a common manifold. Collaborating closely with our contracting partners and Conoco Philips, a cleaning method was developed which included several of Contract Resources’ core services - HPW lancing, Pigging and vacuuming, and the use of a 3rd party snorkel system which allowed each tube to be individually isolated and cleaned separately. The cleaning method was developed, executed and ultimately improved to solve the problem.
At the presentation, we were described as the “Swiss Army Knife of Maintenance Services” with the ability to solve many difficult problems. Full credit to our team of Paul Francis, Sam Whitaker-Mills, Ron Loots and Ramsey El-Derini who did a stellar job of representing our company at this important event.
The award is recognition for the way Contract Resources works with our clients, using experience over many years and different industries, to come up with innovative solutions and resolve client problems. Thanks to all of the Contract Resources personnel who have had input into this work at APLNG including Andrew Harrison, Ron Loots, Sean Jordan, Scott Heron, Julio Cortes, Shawn Perham, Tio Ioane, Dan Powell, Alvin Dirksz, Adam Webb, Paul Commerford, Ramsey El-Derini, DDT Global and Metco Industrial
