Tank Maintenance Services
Contract Resources continues to set new standards in specialised tank maintenance; offering superior service solutions to exceed client expectations.
Excelling at the complex challenge of storage tank management, we guarantee increased productivity plus decreased down-time and maintenance costs due to our experienced and multi-skilled teams, innovative techniques, cutting edge equipment, and a safety record that sets us apart.
Mechanical Preparation
Contract Resources' teams of multi-skilled technicians enable one team to complete the entire project.
As required we can install blinds, prepare the tanks for work, and then move straight into the cleaning phase. We can also provide stripping and dewatering as part of this process which reduces the interfaces often required when taking tanks out of service.
Entry, Cleanup, Repair, & Lifting
Contract Resources can provide cold cutting technology to safely enter tanks in hazardous environments. This further provides better access for cleaning, waste treatment and subsequent mechanical repairs. Hydraulic dozers, floor cleaners, and wall crawlers and blasters are used to remove any residual product.
Having a multi-skilled team means the removal of tank roof seals and inspection of pontoons can be completed while cleaning is in progress. Any demolition or repair work required can be managed by the same team. Work on leaded storage tanks is undertaken to OCTEL specifications.
Contract Resources' partnership with A.R.Watson Ltd enables storage tanks to be lifted; making inspection, mechanical repair, and foundation repair possible.
Surface Preparation & Coatings
Contract Resources' genuinely multi-skilled workforce and range of innovative technologies provide the ultimate protection for our client's assets.
- UHP SpiderJet removes the need for scaffolding or EWPs
- Surface coatings, including GRP coatings and solvent-free epoxy solids, are used to repair and line storage tanks; resulting in savings in downtime and mechanical repairs
- Vacuum cleaning automated accessories for surface stripping utilising recycled water to minimise waste and environmental impact
- HP and UHP hydrojetting and abrasive blasting to remove resins, rubber, bitumen and corrosion
- Specialised coatings application and Certified Inspectors trained in coating specification selection
- OSHA, confined space, rope access, and BOSIET certified technicians
- Waste containment and environmental management
Remote Cleaning & Demolition
Contract Resources manufactures automated access and cleaning equipment to allow for remote cleaning of tanks, columns and vessels. It also manufactures robust camera systems for inspection purposes and to monitor cleaning progress in aggressive environments.
Contract Resources also have access to Brokk⢠robotic equipment for automated tank cleaning and demolition operations; removing the need for personnel entry.
These machines can be fitted with multiple attachments of general industrial or Contract Resources design. They are electrically driven, making them ideal for use in Tank Cleaning roles where hot work and engine emissions are unfavourable.
Sludge Removal & Treatment
Tanks are prepared using Contract Resources' proprietary tank circulation and sludge reduction system to significantly reduce sludge volumes and LEL's without tank entry. A range of other equipment options including high-powered vacuum units, pumps, and semi-automated remote controlled accessories are utilised to achieve a quality result.
Solids Liquid Treatment processes waste sludge using an in-tank Sludge Reduction process coupled with Solid Liquid Treatment (SLT) units; returning valuable product to the client, while disposing of residual materials. Through the use of our CRSRS process incorporating our swivel jet mixers and hazardous-area rated pumps, superior results are achieved.
This 'blinds to blinds' service includes harvesting the sludge, simultaneous separation of liquids and solids, and stabilisation of contaminated materials. The resulting waste can then be treated using indirect thermal desorption to decrease environmental impact.
This process can reduce traditional cleaning costs by up to 60%; resulting in a cost neutral project.
Productivity
The management of storage tanks has become a complex challenge for terminal operators. The need to utilise capacity more efficiently, more frequent product changes and stricter environmental regulations, puts increasing pressure on operators to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
Contract Resources utilises specialised automated tank maintenance services to manage these situations. Special focus is placed on a faster turnaround time with superior waste minimisation and treatment.
Contract Resources' genuine multi-skilled workforce results in seamless scope execution, flexibility of role on site and reduced supporting contractors, whilst maintaining a safety record that sets us apart from others in the industry.
Zero Harm
Contract Resources' key value is zero harm; focused on care for Health, Safety, Community and
Environment with a target of zero incidents. This is achieved utilising a fulltime safety management
team to provide internationally recognised and respected safety training programs and systems.
- Highly-skilled trainers provide specialised, tailored training and refresher courses to OSHA standards in superior in-house facilities
- Proprietary techniques reduce or eliminate confined space entries and hazardous floor residues improving employee safety and morale, increasing productivity
