Environmental Services

Contract Resources continues to set new standards in environmental services and prides itself on being more than a specialised services company; offering solutions to specific problems, not just the supply of labour and equipment.

Superior clean up of toxic materials and sites is achieved using innovative equipment and technology, together with a multi-skilled, experienced, and safety conscious workforce. The Contract Resources name stands for quality and technical expertise with the company being ISO-9001 certified.

Hydrocarbon Compliant Vacuum Trucks

Contract Resources' fleet of eight Hydrocarbon compliant Vacuum trucks are mostly Volvo FM9 or 11 Euro4 compliant Cab chassis 8 x 4s, with a 10,000L storage capacity. These vehicles are Pressure Vessel Design registered, and Dangerous Goods Design Approved (class 3 and 9).

Trucks are designed and operated to be compliant to:

  • Dangerous Goods code 7
  • AS1210-1997 Pressure Vessel
  • AS2809.1-2008 Road Tank Vehicles for Dangerous Goods Part 1 – General requirements
  • AS2809.2 – 2008 Road Tanks Vehicles for Dangerous Goods Part 2 – Road tank vehicles for flammable liquids
  • API RP 2219 – Safe Operation of Vacuum Trucks in Petroleum Service

Sludge Treatment

Contract Resources operates an in-tank Sludge Reduction System (CRSRS) coupled with Solid Liquid Treatment (SLT) units to treat hydrocarbon waste and recover valuable product from residue in oil storage tanks, ponds and pits.

This equipment is capable of 3 phase separation and is EXD compliant, making it suitable for both on and offshore operations.

This ‘blinds to blinds’ service includes harvesting the sludge, simultaneous separation of liquids and solids, and stabilisation of contaminated materials. The resulting waste can then be treated using indirect thermal desorption to decrease environmental impact.

Profitable recovery of oil from waste makes the SLT system cost effective and environmentally important.

Plant Demolition

Utilising its range of services, Contract Resources has proven performance in decontaminating and ultimately demolishing plants. This includes leaded storage tanks and pipes to OCTEL specifications.

To date Contract Resources has been involved in nearly all TEL facility removal and disposal projects in Australia.

Our ability to mechanically prepare plant, decontaminate process vessels and pipework, pigg, chemically flush process systems and 'cold cut' steel in hazardous areas can significantly reduce time and costs.

Mercury Handling & Disposal

Contract Resources can provide complete mercury handling and disposal services. We understand that mercury contamination on gas plants and processing units, as well as refineries and petrochemical plants is an increasing problem.

In response, equipment specifically for the handling and disposal of mercury contaminated materials like sludge, catalysts, absorbents, and soil has been designed and successfully commissioned.

Equipment includes a proprietary vacuum system with a mercury recovery cyclone and filtration unit, which stops any mercury vapours from being discharged to the atmosphere.

Productivity

Contract Resources' genuine multi-skilled workforce results in seamless scope execution, flexibility of role on site and reduced supporting contractors, whilst maintaining a safety and environmental record that sets us apart from others in the industry.

  • Collaborate with clients to ensure work scope and best practices are identified and implemented
  • Technicians are highly trained and selected on their work ethic, industry experience, technical knowledge and ability to perform a wide range of services to the highest safety levels
